How to prepare for your IFGlobal Discovery Call

How to prepare for your IFGlobal Discovery Call
4:53

A Discovery Call with IFGlobal is designed to be an opportunity for us to understand your business as a whole, including your operational goals and the challenges you’re currently facing across fulfilment, logistics, and technology.

To make the most of that time together, it helps to have some key information ready. Don’t worry if everything isn’t perfectly documented. We work with brands at all stages of growth, and even partial information gives us valuable insight. The more context you can share, the faster we can identify opportunities and design a fulfilment solution that supports your growth.

Below is a guide to the information that’s most helpful ahead of your Discovery Call.

Order history and demand patterns

Understanding how orders flow through your business allows us to assess capacity, and scalability.

If available, please be ready to share:

  • Between three months and one year of historical order data
  • Average order volumes and frequency
  • Any seasonality or peak trading periods
  • Product-level detail, including SKUs, quantities, weights, dimensions, and delivery zip codes

This data helps us spot trends, anticipate peaks, and design a fulfilment operation that can flex with your demand.

Inventory and fulfilment overview

A clear picture of your current inventory and fulfilment setup allows us to assess storage needs, handling requirements, and optimisation opportunities.

Helpful information includes:

  • A current inventory snapshot, including SKUs, units on hand, and pallet breakdowns
  • Where your inventory is currently stored (warehouses or distribution centres)
  • Existing returns and reverse logistics processes
  • Any products that require special handling, such as high-value, fragile, dangerous goods, or temperature-sensitive items

Standard operating procedures and value-added services

If your fulfilment operation goes beyond pick and pack, we’ll want to understand those additional processes.

This may include:

  • SOPs for value-added services or custom packouts
  • Any existing kitting, bundling, reworking, or assembly workflows
  • Quality control or inspection processes currently in place

These details help us ensure operational consistency and maintain your brand standards at scale.

Work orders and prep requirements

Examples often speak louder than documentation.

If possible, it would be helpful to show us:

  • Examples of typical prep, kitting, bundling, or assembly work orders
  • Any special labelling, packaging, or compliance requirements

This allows us to accurately scope labour, timelines, costs, and opportunities.

Retailers, carriers, and compliance

If you sell through retail or multiple channels, this information is especially important.

Please be ready to discuss:

  • Current retail partners and distribution channels
  • Routing guides, if applicable
  • Preferred carriers or shipping methods
  • Any special handling or retailer-specific requirements

Technology and systems

Your tech stack plays a critical role in how fulfilment operates day to day.

We’ll typically cover:

  • All platforms currently in use (ERP, WMS, ecommerce platforms, marketplaces, etc.)
  • Integration requirements or API needs
  • Reporting tools and data visibility requirements

This helps us assess integration complexity and ensure smooth data flow from day one.

Business goals and operational priorities

A Discovery Call isn’t just about where you are today; it’s about where you’re going.

We’ll want to understand:

  • Expected growth and peak season projections
  • Upcoming promotions or new product launches
  • Current fulfilment challenges or pain points
  • Any sustainability or CSR requirements
  • Additional support needs, such as admin, supply chain, compliance, customs, or tax support

Financial and billing considerations

While we don’t expect final numbers on the call, having a general understanding of your current costs helps frame the conversation.

Useful context includes:

  • Typical cost per order or per pallet
  • Any billing, invoicing, or reconciliation requirements

Key contacts and decision-makers

Finally, knowing who’s involved helps us keep the process efficient and aligned.

Please identify:

  • Key contacts across operations, technology, and account management
  • Decision-makers involved in logistics and fulfilment strategy

If you don’t have all of this information to hand, that’s completely fine. Discovery Calls are designed to meet you where you are. Even partial data gives us enough insight to ask the right questions and outline a fulfilment strategy tailored to your business. Coming prepared simply allows us to go deeper and deliver more actionable insight during the call.

We’re looking forward to learning more about your business and exploring how we can support your next stage of growth.

Let’s talk growth

Ready to scale smarter? Whether you’re evaluating fulfilment providers or building your own in-house operations, we’d love to talk.
